Charnetskaya Militsa Sergeevna, the brightest representative of the Leningrad landscape school, member of the Leningrad Union of Artists and LOSSA, candidate of architecture, associate professor of the department of drawing and painting at LISS, was born on May 24, 1914. in the city of Shadrinsk, Perm province in the family of a priest.

In 1937 she graduated with honors from the Faculty of Architecture of the Leningrad Institute of Industrial Construction Engineers, the workshop of Full Member of the USSR Academy of Architecture, Professor A.S. Nikolsky. Teachers of painting and drawing V.A. Grinberg and N.A. Tyrsa. Before the war, she systematically studied in the studio of drawing and painting in the House of Architects (LOSSA) with V.A. Grinberg, N.A. Tyrsy, N.F. Lapshina, A.S. Vedernikova. From 1951 to 1953 Postgraduate studies at the Department of Drawing and Painting LISI, head: Doctor of Architecture, Professor V.I. Taleporovsky.

Since 1954, together with Vedernikov A.S. taught at LISI until 1970. Throughout his creative life with famous artists Vedernikov A.S., Ermolaev B.N., Matyukh, Yakobson A.N. worked in the famous experimental lithographic workshop. She enriched the art of lithography with original author's artistic techniques. Being a representative of the Leningrad landscape school, the main theme of his work is the landscapes of St. Petersburg. Her works are distinguished by their poetry, clear composition and conciseness: a series of author's lithographs "Petersburg", "Gardens and Parks of St. Petersburg" (1970-1987).

She developed her own unique artistic language in watercolors: watercolors “Field of Mars”, “Engineers’ Castle”, “Mikhailovsky Garden”, “Sednev”, “Senezh”, etc. Her works are kept by the State Russian Museum and the Moscow Institute of Fine Arts. Pushkin, the National Gallery of Washington, the Dresden Art Gallery and other museums around the world. Participant of many International exhibitions: USA, England, Canada, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Latin American countries, etc.
She died on February 5, 1997 in the city of Pushkin.
