Mijo Kovacic, the youngest of five children, was born on August 5, 1935 in the small Croatian village of Gornja Suma. Mijo Kovacic discovered his artistic talent very early, even in childhood. Pictures of rural life remained in his memory forever. Currently, Mijo Kovacic is one of the recognized masters of naive art not only in his homeland, but also at the world level. His work is widely known and he is still creating.
