Petrov Mikhail Fedorovich (06/11/1938 - 04/08/2008) - Honored Artist of Russia. Graduated from the Moscow Art School in 1959. Since 1960, he began to exhibit his easel and graphic works, participating in exhibitions of young artists. Then he studied at the art department of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography.
For 12 years he taught composition to students at his native Moscow Art University. Today, Mikhail Fedorovich Petrov’s students are known both in Russia and abroad. These are painters E. Dybsky, V. Sorokin, A. Mayboroda, academician A. Lyubavin, illustrators Y. Bogachev, N. Shuvalov.
He received the title of Honored Artist of Russia in 1998. Mikhail Fedorovich was a Member of the Union of Artists and a Member of the Union of Journalists. He was awarded various diplomas and became a laureate of a number of prestigious awards. M.F. Petrov's works are in Russian museums and in private foreign collections in England, Japan, Germany, Belgium, Austria, and Israel. A series of works “From the Life of Pushkin”, dedicated to the bicentenary of the great Russian poet, was acquired by the Museum of the History of the City of Moscow.
