Hermann David Salomon Corrodi (1844-1905) (56 works)
Italian painter and graphic artist, a prominent representative of the Corrodi clan of artists who worked in Italy in the 19th century. Son and student of Solomon Corrodi, a recognized master of landscape, professor and honorary member of the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. Continuing the family tradition, German Corrodi also became famous for his landscape works, but often turned to the historical genre. The paintings of Herman David Solomon Corrodi were especially highly valued at the English court. Traveled a lot. He worked in London, Baden-Baden, Vienna, Paris, as well as in Egypt, Syria, Palestine and Turkey. I was very interested in oriental motifs. Among his works, the most famous are Italian views, mainly of the Roman environs and Venice. Most of the master’s works are distinguished by a light tone, soft color scheme and subtle play of light and shadow.
