David Shepherd was born in London on April 25th in 1931. He spent his childhood in Totteridge in North London. At the age of 6 he was awarded in an art competition in the Children's World magazine.

From 1950 to 1953, Devil studied painting with professional artist Robin Goodwin.

His love of aviation led David to join the Royal Air Force, where he received his first commissions for paintings depicting Kenyan wildlife. Upon returning to London in 1962, the artist staged his first exhibition at the Tyron Gallery, which was a success. Many of David Shepherd's paintings have been reproduced in the form of reproductions and art albums. The artist is currently involved in various campaigns to protect wildlife.
