Paintings by Oleg Molchanov (97 works)
"He paints the landscape like an icon." - This is what they say about the artist Oleg Molchanov.
The works of landscape artist Oleg Molchanov are permeated with love for the Motherland, quiet and beautiful, not destroyed by the vanity of vanities. His paintings are filled with contemplative-philosophical, chamber-lyrical and epic meaning. Landscapes are clean, kind, calm and humane, evoking thought and encouraging prayer and understanding of deep truths.
When you see the artist’s works, you are amazed at how close they are to your soul and you are surprised at how sensual and soulful they are. You immediately begin to remember the past, dream about the future, and experience a mixed feeling of sadness and joy. With their purity and power of influence, these paintings resemble holy faces. Only these are not images of people, but images of native nature. Like icons, landscapes exude love and light, protect from defilement and temptation. The world in every painting by Oleg Molchanov is so pure and immaculate that you want to stay in it forever, or at least leave a piece of it inside your soul.
Oleg Molchanov is not only an artist, but also a poet and restorer. Recently he has been involved in the construction of a chapel for the royal martyrs near the Ipatiev Monastery in Kostroma. It should be erected in 2013, when the 400th anniversary of the Romanov dynasty will be celebrated.
