Italian artist transforms hospitals into fairy tale realms (31 photos)

For seven years now, Italian artist Silvio Irilli has been painting walls in hospitals with life-affirming frescoes. During this time, he has already transformed 12 children's and adult hospitals into fairy-tale kingdoms. According to the artist, his paintings in wards, treatment rooms and operating rooms lift the spirits and help patients, even during the most difficult procedures, “maintain joy and courage.”
