Inferno from Dante's "Divine Comedy" on violins (12 photos + 1 video)
Leonardo Frigo, a London-based artist, illustrates biographies and stories on musical instruments such as violins and cellos. For more than four years, the master has been working on a project that combines music, poetry, design and craft. We are talking about 34 musical instruments, painted based on the first part of the Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri. Each instrument is dedicated to a specific song, demonstrating its key images and symbols.
Leonardo admits that Dante's Hell inspired him from early childhood, it was he who taught him to imagine. In each song of the Divine Comedy he looks for symbols, images and names. He draws an image in his mind, then uses ink to transfer it to the violin and covers the finished work with varnish.
