Moscow needlewoman and designer Katerina Marchenko embroiders amazing complex compositions with colored threads on ordinary transparent tulle. Thanks to the unique technique, the girl’s “paintings” are voluminous, rich in color, contrasts and weightless magic. Katerina's technique is a combination of many shades of threads, or “organized chaos”. The craftswoman shares her works on Instagram.
Muscovite Katerina began to become interested in the world of fashion and the art of sewing during her student years. In September 2015, the girl became seriously interested in embroidery, working on thick fabrics. In 2016, I attended sewing courses, one of the tasks of which was to sew a blouse.
Having seen embroidered dresses from Valentino, Elie Saab, Dior, Katerina decided to create an airy tulle blouse with embroidery. This is how the love for embroidery on tulle began. In the summer of 2017, the girl attended the Ecole Lesage school in Paris, and since then she has been decorating her works using the Luneville technique.
“My technique is a combination of many shades of threads, or organized chaos,” says Katerina. “I like working with tulle, since it is a transparent fabric, and the resulting embroidery is visually more voluminous. I don’t make sketches before starting work - I usually know ", what exactly I want to embroider. Contours and shades appear already in the process of work."
