The miniature world of Japanese artist Kiyomi (25 photos)
Miniaturization in Japan has a long history dating back thousands of years. The classic example is the bonsai tree, and the latest technology in this direction is mobile phones.
A follower of this trend is Japanese artist Kiyomi (known as @chiisanashiawase2015), who creates handmade miniature antique furniture and accessories for dollhouses.
As a mother of two, she often wakes up as early as 4 a.m. to pursue her favorite hobby. Her incredibly detailed tiny creations, made from a variety of materials including paper, wire and plexiglass, are furnishings typical of the 18th century.
The artist's collection includes antique cabinets and chairs, haberdashery items such as spools of thread, sewing scissors and an antique sewing machine, as well as tiny shoes and hats displayed in a tiny clothing store. There's even a miniature bakery with tiny cakes.
