Akira Yoshizawa and his amazing origami figures (10 photos)
Here are the works of the Japanese origami master Akira Yoshizawa, who made an invaluable contribution to the development of this art in the modern world. In 1937, he worked as a draftsman at a factory and taught beginners descriptive geometry using origami figures. Living in poverty, he made a living by selling spices. During World War II, he served in a military hospital in Hong Kong, where he decorated the beds of wounded soldiers with original paper figures. During his life, Akira Yoshizawa created the origami alphabet, wrote 18 books, invented wet folding technology and made more than 50,000 models.
