Albert-Charles Lebourg (French Albert-Charles Lebourg; February 1, 1849, Montfort-sur-Rille [fr], France - January 7, 1928, Rouen) - French landscape artist, follower of impressionism and post-impressionism, representative of the Rouen school of painting. Knight of the Legion of Honor.
Biography
Born in the French town of Montfort-sur-Rille (English)Russian. Lebour studied in the studio of the architect Drouin, and then at the School of Painting and Art in Rouen. In 1867 he visited the Paris Salon, where he became acquainted with the works of Courbet and Manet, which left an indelible impression on him. From 1872 to 1876 he lived in Algeria, working as a teacher at the local Society of Fine Arts. In 1877, Lebourg returned to Paris, where he met many impressionists, including Degas, Monet and Sisley. Lebour twice, in 1879 and 1880, exhibited his paintings at Impressionist exhibitions. From 1886 to 1895 he lived in Paris and exhibited annually at the Salon. Subsequently, he travels a lot around Europe, visiting Holland, England and Switzerland.
In 1896, an exhibition of his works was held at the Mancini Gallery. In 1900, Lebourg took part in the World Exhibition. In 1903 he became a Knight of the Legion of Honor.
In fact, his career as an artist ends in 1921; being paralyzed, he no longer paints. He died on January 7, 1928 in Rouen.
