Savchenko Anatoly Mikhailovich (1924-2011) - Soviet and Russian animator and illustrator of children's books. Born on June 30, 1924 in the city of Novocherkassk. In 1953 he graduated from the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK). Participant of the Great Patriotic War. From 1953 to 1990, he was a production designer at the largest Soviet animation film studio "Soyuzmultfilm" ("Baby and Carlson", he came up with the images of the heroes of other popular cartoons, such as "Peter and Little Red Riding Hood", "Vovka in the Far Far Away Kingdom", "The Nutcracker", "Return of the Prodigal Parrot"). When working on the backgrounds, I used my own method of scratching the outline of the image on primed Whatman paper. Designed children's books and filmstrips.
Anatoly Savchenko did not have any titles or awards. He received the only prize - “For outstanding contribution to the profession” in February 2008 at the XIII Open Russian Animated Film Festival in Suzdal. The artist left the Soyuzmultfilm film studio in the late 1980s. and since then he only drew illustrations for children's books.
