Franz Xaver Petter (* October 23, 1791 in Lichtenthal, now Vienna, † May 11, 1866 in Vienna), Austrian artist, renowned master of still life. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. In 1815 he was a proofreader at the Blumenzeichenschule der Akademie, and in 1822 a professor at the Manufakturzeichenschule.
