Famous artist. Children's book designer. Born in the Urals, in the city of Serov. He studied in Moscow at the Stroganov Art School and the Tiflis Academy of Arts. In 1941 he was sent into exile to Karaganda as a person of German nationality. He stayed here until 1951: he ran an art studio, was a theater artist, and drew cartoons for a regional newspaper. Then I worked in different cities. Since 1975, he settled in Moscow and collaborated with publishing houses. Sketches of illustrations for children's books, watercolor sheets by L. Hamburger have been preserved; several of his works are available in the COMMIA.
