The painting of St. Petersburg artist Vladimir Volosov is the second life of a scientist, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor, laureate of the USSR State Prize, author of more than 100 scientific works in the field of modern science - nonlinear optics.
“Painting for me is not work or relaxation, it is joy. And I share this joy with the viewer in each of my paintings,” says the author.
Thirty years of intense scientific work at the forefront of modern physics made him especially acutely aware of the trepidation and vulnerability of the beauty of the world. The formula “beauty will save the world” is consonant with his worldview. “Have time to realize all your possibilities, everything that nature has given you” - this is the somewhat pragmatic credo of the artist. And now, on the threshold of his 50th birthday, he decides to “live another life” - in the prime of his creative powers, he leaves scientific activity and devotes himself entirely to painting.
Vladimir Volosov is endowed by God with a sense of color, harmony and beauty. In his works he widely uses motifs characteristic of Russian landscape painting. His works are deeply lyrical and intimate. The artist cares about light contrasts and his own findings in the perception of different lighting conditions. Painting technique is the subject of experiment in the work of Vladimir Volosov; its search creates emotional collisions in the paintings.
