Branson De Cou Archive: Russia - 1920-1930s. (part 2 - St. Petersburg) (66 works)
While in Leningrad, Branson DeCou, as an experienced tourist, captured almost all the famous sights: the Winter Palace, St. Isaac's Cathedral, the Savior on Spilled Blood, the Bronze Horseman... But one cannot help but notice that the American observer is much more interested in the vibrant and unique city life. Vivid street scenes, unusual characters encountered by the photographer on the streets of Leningrad and characteristic signs of the times stated in numerous propaganda posters and signs - this is what makes these photographs unique.
