Emil Reinicke was one of the first German comics artists. He was born in 1859 in Zerbst and studied at the Academy of Dresden and Munich from 1876-1882. He drew illustrations for such authors as Fliegende Blatter and Muncher Bilderbogen. His work was published in books such as "Lustiges aus der Thierwelt" (1900) and "Fur Kinder, die gern Lachen" (1910), which appeared from Braun & Schneider.
