Artist Andrei Stanislavovich Lysenko was born into the family of the Lysenko dynasty of Moscow artists in 1974.

His childhood passed in an oasis of art in the town of artists on Verkhnyaya Maslovka. The town of artists is the place where such masters as I. Grabar, S. Gerasimov, B. Iaganson, G. Tseitlin and others lived and worked. His penchant for fine arts was supported by his parents from early childhood. A particularly living example is his grandfather, Honored Artist of Russia A.G. Lysenko. In whose workshop Andrei spent a lot of time watching his grandfather’s work. In 1981, Andrei Lysenko entered the Krasin Art School. There he begins to study painting professionally. In 1983, Andrei successfully passed exams at the Moscow Secondary Art School. Tomsk at the V.I. Surikov Institute. Under the guidance of experienced teachers L. Tomashevskaya, V. Borisov, A. Baranov, Yu. Ivanov, he studied the traditions of the Russian realistic school of painting. For his diploma work, Andrei Lysenko chooses the historical theme “Reverend Sergius blesses Dmitry Donskoy at the Battle of Kulikovo” and “Return”. The work receives an excellent rating from the diploma committee. In 1992, Andrei Stanislavovich Lysenko entered the Moscow State Academic Art Institute. V.I. Surikov at the Russian Academy of Arts. While studying at the institute, he painstakingly and carefully learns the lessons of such famous teachers as A. Danilichev, I. Shatsky, L. Shepelev, V. Nekrasov, Yu. Grishchenko. The artist’s diploma work, the triptych “Wooden Temples of Russia,” was awarded by the commission of the institute and the Academy of Arts of Russia. After graduating from the institute in 1998, Andrei undertakes creative trips to Western Europe and Canada. He also lives and works for a long time with famous Italian philanthropists. The continuity of the painting tradition, the constant development of new creative ideas and intensive exhibition activities give the artist fresh strength to create new paintings. Historical, religious and philosophical paintings occupy a special place in the art of Andrei Lysenko.
