In the Hotel Fredensborg Store Kro in the Danish city of Fredensborg there is a gallery “Olaf Poulsen hall”, the walls of which are decorated with 58 canvases depicting the most famous comedian of the Royal Danish Theater, Olaf Poulsen (1849-1923), painted by his son Emil Poulsen. This collection was purchased by hotelier Ronald Larsen in 1960. Olaf Poulsen was closely associated with the Hotel Fredensborg Store Kro, as he lived in the neighboring house from 1884 until his death
Danish and Norwegian painter and graphic artist Emil Poulsen (1873 – 1958). Born in Drammen, Norway. In the 1890s he studied at the Free Art School in Copenhagen. 1908 settled in Copenhagen. He exhibited his works at exhibitions in Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
