The work of the young Kyiv artist Pavel Vitanovsky is already known not only in Ukraine but also far beyond its borders. His works are in private collections in many countries around the world (Japan, France, Italy, USA, Canada, Poland, Russia, Germany, Serbia). The young artist’s favorite theme is the urban landscape. However, his works, as a rule, are not characterized by documentary recording of light-temporal states and artistic-spatial perspectives of the architectural development of a particular city. The landscapes, recreated in an extravaganza of colors, are filled with figurative and associative principles, full of life-giving energy and irresistible optimism. The artist recreates popular and less recognizable corners of famous megacities through the prism of idealizing beauty; the viewer seems to find himself in a fairy-tale city, devoid of social problems.
