Frits Thaulow (Norwegian Frits Thaulow, October 20, 1847, Christiania - November 5, 1906, Volendam, the Netherlands) was a Norwegian landscape artist, one of the most significant representatives of Norwegian painting of the 19th century.
Thaulow received a number of awards for his artistic activities, including his appointment as commander of the 2nd Royal Order of St. Olaf in 1905. He received the French Legion of Honour, the Order of Saints Mauritius and Lazarus from Italy, and the Order of Nishan-el-Iftikkar (Order of Glory) from Tunisia. He died in Volendam, in the Netherlands. The National Gallery of Norway has 37 of his works. Other prominent paintings are available in the Hermitage, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and the Busch-Reisinger Museum at Harvard University.
