Ferreira began drawing when he was a small child. While still in school, at the age of 9, his teacher asked him to draw illustrations of folk tales from books using crayons on the board in literature class. At the age of 15, he became part of an independent theater group in Argentina, where he was an actor and then director. But it was many years later when he concentrated only on painting. His father was a carpenter, and it was from him, Ferreira says, that he inherited a “noble passion” for working with his hands.
Even as a child, Carlos Ferreira decided to devote his entire life to art. Over thirty years of painting, which ranged from pencil sketches and oil portraits to abstract drawings, Carlos Ferreira not only developed his own unique painting technique, but also created a huge body of work capable of interpreting moods, events and culture. His latest series of works is dedicated to important moments in the life of “people of no importance” - ordinary people. Ferreira devotes his paintings to everyday life.
Here he opens a window for us through which we can see his memories, a glimpse into that moment frozen in time that, in many ways, becomes a memory of our past and perhaps that is why today we take it for granted. Carlos Ferreyra is a talented artist, born in Santa Fe, Argentina in 1937. He is a self-taught artist, who, however, managed to win the respect of his colleagues and earn the love of the audience. Now he often takes part in international exhibitions and art fairs, such as Art Expo in New York, Art Miami in Florida or ArteBa in Buenos Aires.
