Artist Nikolai Zaitsev was born in 1956 in Germany in the city of Dresden, famous throughout the world for the famous Dresden Gallery. He started drawing very early and immediately created his own special fantasy world populated by unusual characters. It is possible that he inherited his painting talent from his grandfather, Nikolai Semenovich Zaitsev, a famous landscape painter who was a student of Appolinary Vasnetsov, and whose works are in the collection of the State Tretyakov Gallery. Nikolai was accepted into the Stroganov School, appreciating the series of watercolors. He was one of the founders of the first Moscow private gallery “Arbat-48”. His exhibitions took place in many countries around the world: Paris, New York, Hanover, Baden-Baden. Nikolai Zaitsev's works are in many private collections both in Russia and abroad.
