Terry Zilecki was born in 1954. in British Columbia, graduating with a degree in Commercial Art in 1973. and began his career as an independent commercial artist. In parallel with this activity, he began to paint. When the demand for his work began to grow, he realized that he had found his place in life and from now on would devote himself entirely to painting.

His long-standing fascination with Koi carp and the care with which he has studied them is reflected in his work. The fish in the paintings are depicted so vividly that they can “compete” with the immediate feeling that you experience while admiring real carp in a pond. The artist believes that thanks to this living effect, his paintings bring “a small piece of heaven” into the house.
