Roy Cross is one of the most famous model box illustrators.

Roy was born in 1924 near London. He began to depict military models of aircraft and ships during the Second World War. After the war, he became a freelance artist and continued to paint military equipment. In the 60s he began to draw covers of boxes of prefabricated models, which he continued to do in the 70s. Then Roy Cross became interested in ships and became a marine painter, selling most of his works.
