Gilmanova Gulshat Zabirovna: “Born on January 30, 1967 in the small beautiful Ural city of Beloretsk, Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. As a child, she studied at an art school, where her favorite teacher, an amazingly talented, patient and beautiful woman Lyubov Aleksandrovna Telyatnikova, taught painting, drawing, and needlework. My mother is wonderful. a dreamer, an inventor and an artist at heart, she instilled in her children a love of drawing.
Having graduated from the Geological Faculty of Moscow State University, I have been living in the Far East since 1989. I work at the Pacific Oceanological Institute and at the Computing Center of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Geophysicist by specialty. Currently I live and work in Khabarovsk.
The conscious need to draw appeared in my third year at university. I painted a little with watercolors and pen. And when I went on assignment to Vladivostok, this was fully manifested. This was facilitated by the amazing nature, the sea, work on voyages on research vessels, and travel to the countries of Southeast Asia. There are so many vivid impressions, so much beauty all around that excites the soul, and everything begs to be put down on paper.
Favorite technique is pastel. I like to feel it with my fingertips. The result is a delicate velvet surface, like the tender wings of a butterfly. I love animals. I love them for their sincerity, natural beauty and perfection."
