Postcards made by Finnish artist Inge Look for the Red Cross Inge Look, an illustrator and gardener, was born in Helsinki in 1951. She graduated from high school in 1972. She trained as a landscape designer in 1974, and graduated from the University of the Arts and Educational Center for Graphic Design in 1979. She worked as a gardener for 6 years in search of herself, until a friend asked her to draw several cartoons for the newspaper. Then there were magazine illustrations, postcards, calendars - and, ultimately, Inge Look decided to work as an independent artist in 1979.
I drew more than 300 cards, about half of which were Christmas themed. Illustrates books and magazines, especially on horticultural topics. Her greatest fame was brought to her by the series “anarkistisistamummokorteistaan” - cheerful old ladies who do not want to grow old.
Grandma’s first drawing appeared in 2003, now there are about 20 of them, postcards and calendars with them are selling like hot cakes all over the world.
Inge herself writes: “I would like people to stop sometimes, and not rush headlong from one project to another. So that they can be happy with what they have. It seems to me that one of the holy truths of life is life in "the present moment. I myself always struggle to ensure that the value of the current second is remembered."
