Is there a person who has never dreamed of sitting on fluffy clouds or fooling around among the stars?
French photographer Alastair Magnaldo invites everyone to visit his fairyland. Ali lives and works between Provence and Cevennes. Armed with a camera and a computer, he creates and improves his style. For the last few years he has been using the promising creative pseudonym Al Magnus. Having been involved in photography since the age of ten, I was always fascinated by landscapes, but having brilliantly mastered the basics of photographic equipment, I realized that landscape is only a preparatory stage for the embodiment of artistic ideas. From now on, for him, landscape is an invitation to fantasy. Now the concept of the composition appears in an instant, where all the fragments are in harmonious coherence, where the desired landscape is an element waiting for the ideal situation.
It’s impossible to tear yourself away from Al Magnus’ photographic works. Is it possible to take your eyes off the rainbow, stratified into colors, from the long, long bridge along which you can get beyond the clouds, from a flock of swan ballerinas, woven from rays reflected by the sea? You can’t be distracted, otherwise you’ll never fly away on a cloud to the sun and stars, and you won’t know how to close the torn sky with a puzzle. Here they give you a special narrow staircase, and you can easily get to the moon. Here they show how to take away a part of the solar disk on a boat - a “golden piece” of happiness.
The works of Al Magnus are called professional photo-fairy tales, surreal canvases on which childhood dreams come true. And in his home studio, the photographer “composes” ideas, sketches scenes, and makes a list of elements. Each piece of work is a photograph, and the wait for the perfect landscape can last a year.
