Japanese pop surrealism Yosuke Ueno (139 works)
Yosuke Ueno loved to draw since childhood, but no one in the family supported his aspirations or was interested in his hobby. Therefore, the artist studied painting on his own and did not share his successes. And the successes became so significant and obvious that in 1994, when the artist turned 16, his works were presented at a personal art exhibition in Yamaguchi.
“At first, I drew the way I wanted and drew only for myself,” Yosuke shares, “And then one day, when I was eight years old, my friend really liked one of my drawings. And the more I drew, the more friends I could please. And I wanted to continue to make art that would give people pleasure and joy. Now I draw not only for myself, but also for others.”
Yosuke Ueno is an expert when it comes to symbolism and innocence. His world is a refreshing dose of positive elements mixed with a lot of hope that he wants to share with the world.
Yosuke says about his work: “I always start work without preliminary preparation, without sketches or sketches. I expect that each of my works will complete itself, and usually this happens beyond the limits of my imagination and my imagination. I think that the work of an artist is similar to the work of a scientist: scientists also never know in advance how their experiment will end. The same thing happens with art.”
