Maine Coons were bred over 100 years ago as a large, hardy and beautiful cat breed that survives harsh winters well. Only the most hardy individuals with highly developed muscles were given the opportunity to participate in further breeding.
Maine Coons develop slowly and reach maturity only at 4-5 years of age. By this age, the weight of males can reach 15 kg, in females - less. They are large, gentle and good-natured giants. Even their voice sets them apart from other cats. It has a distinct bright vibration. Maine Coons rarely meow, but only occasionally make a gentle and short voice, which in no way corresponds to their size.
Important distinguishing features of Maine Coons are the shape of the head, body and coat texture. The head is slightly elongated in length rather than in width, with a slightly curved profile and high cheekbones, the ears are large and wide at the base, set high, well-furred inside. Tassels on the ears, similar to those of a lynx. The neck is of medium length, the body is long, the chest is wide. The tail is the same length as the body.
Many Maine Coon owners consider them ideal pets: clown-like appearance, low-maintenance coat, loyal nature with funny habits and behavior, and a willingness to “help” in any activity. They make excellent company for any family and get along well with dogs and other animals.
Maink is an amazing animal that commands self-respect. It amazingly combines power and strength with a creamy character, the look of a wild animal with a gentle purr. This is a very smart and noble animal, whose beauty pleases us, like everything perfect.
Maine Coons are active animals. They manage to do everything, always and everywhere: help you cook dinner, watch TV, play, run, catch a mouse (if you bought it for him, but it managed to escape), these are tireless hunters, they catch mice perfectly. Like all large animals, Maine Coons must have free space to move. They like to watch their owners from above. Sometimes it seems that they know more about us than we think. You can talk about Maine Coons for a long time, but it is much more interesting to watch them. Now there are very few Maine Coons in our country, but I want as many people as possible to appreciate the wild beauty, nobility and spiritual qualities of these animals.
