Despite the abundance of expressive means, techniques and technologies, typography in many ways remains the “essence of graphic design.”

That's how Steff Geissbuhler of C&G Partners New York, chairman of Design Lions 2010, put it when he awarded the Cannes Lions Grand Prix in Design to type work. And even though technology and other means make it possible to display any idea, and every year raise design to a higher level, typography is the highest aerobatics of design. To create a font or individual words, you need to have both talent and skill in order to express an idea, mood, and emotions with just the form of letters.
