This man does not shoe insects, like the left-handed nugget from Leskov’s story. But Briton Willard Wigan can do no less impressive things.

True, it is impossible to examine the creations of his hands with the naked eye - you will need a microscope. After all, the foundation of the work of the sculptor, famous for creating the smallest sculptures in the world, is the eye of a needle and the head of a nail.

The Birmingham native uses coffee and rice beans, sand, fabric fibers, and cobwebs as materials. And she makes brushes from her own eyelashes. After all, painting miniatures requires special tools. Diamond chips, fragments of razor blades and even lint from fly legs are used.

The master placed his smallest work, a figurine of an embryo, inside his own bristles. For which he was included in the Guinness Book of Records for the second time.

The first hit was provided by a model of a golden motorcycle inside a hair, which is large even for a dust mite.

Oddly enough, illness helped the man become famous. The boy suffered from a form of autism - Asperger's syndrome. He was withdrawn, closed, and had difficulty finding a common language with his peers. Dyslexia also added to the uncertainty.

Already at an early age, the child understood that he was not like others. He avoided people, preferring to spend time with his dog. Once a dog dug up an anthill in the garden. And Will became interested in the life of the tiny, busy goosebumps. It seemed to the boy that this was a whole world of special people. And he decided to build a city for them, and a palace for the queen. The mother was amazed to discover an unusual structure made of wood chips and glass. The woman realized that her son had a chance not only to not remain a nobody, but also to “make a big name on small things.”

Support is a great force. And thanks to her, Willard really made a name and achieved incredible heights. Now jewelers, watchmakers, surgeons and nanotechnologists are delighted with the filigree work of the master.

Not everything and not always turns out easy. The sculptor had to master meditation techniques and learn to control his heartbeat and breathing. After all, literally one accidental breath can destroy the result of many days of work.

Now 66-year-old Willard is a world-famous artist whose works are successfully exhibited and sold in different countries. At the same time, he is engaged in charity work, focusing on projects for the most vulnerable and unprotected categories - children and animals.
