Impressive steampunk sculptures by Pierre Matter (18 photos)

French master Pierre Matter creates bronze sculptures intricately decorated with scrap metal. “I’m a kind of recycler. I feel like a child in a big sandbox, only instead of sand there’s a lot of junk and scrap metal, full of beautiful things,” says Pierre. At times, his steampunk masterpieces remind us of who we are and what our future could be.

Pierre Matter was born in 1964. A mathematician by training, he was always interested in art. Pierre tried many forms of expression and materials, from oil to ink, from comics to canvas, before finding himself in steampunk sculpture.
