A sculptor from Brittany summons swamp spirits (15 photos)

Sculptor Sophie Prestigiacomo lives in the south of Brittany, next to the Seine National Park in the Gulf of Morbihan. This is a land of lakes, swamps and spirits that have long inhabited these lands. Sophie set out to revive these spirits and resettle them in the marshy lands of Morbihan.

The sculptor makes his figures from mud and algae, which dry together with the finished work. Their texture changes over time along with the surrounding landscape. For Sophie, these sculptures became a way to once again remind us of the need to respect nature.
