"When I photograph a woman, I want her to know that she is the most beautiful woman in the world, because a woman who feels beautiful is truly the most beautiful woman in the world."

Jean-François Jonville's photographs are devoid of aggression and provocation, and they also lack a surreal view of the human body. But there is genuine psychology and sincerity. Jean-François Jonville offers photographs taken seemingly by chance. They possess the sensuality of a moment that seems to have been captured by the photographer's lens, unwittingly.

Jean-François Jonville was born in 1943 in Cavillion. In 1959, he met photographer Georges Glasberg, with whom he began traveling throughout France, primarily photographing ecclesiastical architecture. In 1963, at the age of 20, Jean Jonville landed a position as Richard Avedon's assistant photographer.

After some time, Jean-François began working independently. By the time of his death in 2002, he was already a recognized master of photography, with numerous solo exhibitions in Paris and beyond, several full-length albums, and, of course, the love of audiences worldwide.

The Master's photographs are light and natural. Jean-François took seemingly random shots, capturing the unique grace and undeniable beauty of the female body in everyday life.

He ironically called himself a "sentimental sex maniac and a born voyeur." His unusual photographs are about love. They are filled with beauty and inspiration. After all, few things inspire as much as the beauty of the female body.

Jonville never had trouble choosing a topic and always said that women were the only topic that interested him. And he always added:

"When I photograph a woman, I want her to know that there is no one more beautiful in the whole world than her, because a woman who feels beautiful is beautiful."

Jean's heroines are gentle and natural, the scenes are not overtly staged, and the photographs seem to have been taken by chance, in secret, by an invisible man.

French photographer Jean-François Jonville has created natural, sensual, and tender black-and-white portraits of women that look as if they were captured alone.

Jonville has participated in many photography festivals and exhibitions, and several albums, published at various times in France, have been dedicated to his work. Jonville's photographs are included in many renowned collections in Europe and America.

His work lives on and never ages. They continue to radiate beauty, love, youth, and sexuality.

They say he photographed women like no one else because he loved them like no one else.
