At the age of 10, Mark Hersh from Boston was given a Kodak camera by his parents. Instamatic, and even then he felt a passion for photography. Mark says that while he was living in Boston his parents took him to historical places from the time of the War for independence, where he took pictures with his camera. Then the family moved to Northern Virginia, and he, of course, explored the entire area. By the age of sixty, Mark was planning to end his career in in the field of marketing and advertising and thought about what he would do next. His his passion for photography did not disappear; on the contrary, he improved my skills and bought quality equipment. And then one day he came across photographs from a hundred years ago of the city of Chicago, in which he lived for about twenty years. Mark decided to repeat these shots, and so he started rephotography.
