The latest shikumen houses in Shanghai: a project by a New Zealand photographer (23 photos)

Nowadays, old Shikumen style houses are being demolished all over Shanghai. Photographer Cody Ellingham from New Zealand traveled to the Chinese metropolis to capture the historic streets before it was too late. As part of his Streets of Shanghai series, he took on a project to study the disappearing shikumen style houses unique to Shanghai's oldest districts.
