40 pets next to their portraits in the style of bygone eras (40 photos)

Crown & Paw specializes in creating extraordinary pet portraits, combining authentic 19th-century portraits and rare Renaissance paintings with animal photography.

“Crown & Paw started out as a passion project,” says the company's founder. “We spent a rainy weekend in Amsterdam, riding bikes along the picturesque canals, eating delicious waffles and pancakes, and visiting the world's best art galleries. That's where the inspiration came from."

The company has only been creating custom portraits since March 2019, but their portfolio already includes hundreds of portraits of dogs, cats, goats, a hedgehog and even a snake. Now these are paintings that can be hung on the wall.
