A Thai photographer who captures aquarium fish like no other (32 photos)

48-year-old Thai photographer Visarut Angkatavanich specializes in photographing betta fish. With contrasting backgrounds, clear aquariums, the best lenses and dramatic lighting, he creates fantastic images. The fish seem to turn into magical creatures floating in the air.

After working in the commercial industry for 20 years, Visarut Angkatavanich noticed ornamental fish that reminded him of his childhood pets. His work quickly became popular on the Internet, most notably in the Betta Splends gallery. But the photographer became known to the general public after his images were presented in the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus as wallpaper.
