The Snov River flows through the Bryansk and Chernigov regions. Length 233 km.
The city has been known since 1068 (victory of Prince Svyatoslav Yaroslavich over the Polovtsians). The Old Russian name of the city is Snovsk. In the XII-XIII centuries it was part of the Chernigov principality. In 1234, Danilo Galitsky took possession of the city. Destroyed by the Tatars in 1239
In 1648-1781 the city was the city of the Chernigov regiment. Sednev is the patrimony of the Lizogub family.
The estate of Yakov Lizoguba is a monument of landscape architecture of the 17th century. The Shevchenko linden tree grows next to the estate. The tree is over 600 years old. Taras Shevchenko loved to relax under the linden tree when he visited Sednev in 1846 and 1847.
