Photos of the ship "Cutty Sark"
The ship was built in 1869 at the Scott and Linton shipyards for shipowner George Willis, who had the idea of naming the ship after a witch used to scare children in Scotland. The fate of the tea clipper Cutty Sark, nicknamed after the witch and resident of the Scottish moors, Nan Short Shirt, turned out to be surprisingly happy. Not only did it outlive all its peers, but it also received eternal parking in a dry dock, became a museum, there are excursions to it, it is considered the pride and example of the English sailing fleet.
