“The psychologism of unbearable everyday life”: cool and uncomfortable works by artist Gregory Ferran (13 photos)
The works of American artist Gregory Ferran show painfully banal subjects in which every viewer can easily recognize himself. But at the same time, creativity is filled with some kind of existential horror that makes your back go cold. We can say that this is a “psychologism of the unbearable everyday life” in which we live. The artist, as if a psychologist, takes us away from the usual reality and shows our existence from an unpleasant, dreary, lonely and uncomfortable side, revealing our worries and anxiety.
Gregory Ferran has repeatedly received the DC Artists' Fellowship (4 awards) for his achievements in art, and in 2008 he won the Silver Lion at the Cannes International Festival. His work shows the signature of Mexican muralists and the style of the 50s.
