Joe Francis Dowden and his paintings. Watercolor (21 photos)
English artist Joe Francis Dowden paints hyper-realistic watercolors. And he believes that everyone can do this. The secret of the artist’s skill is simple: he long ago threw away his watercolor textbooks and began walking through a real forest, noticing and observing every detail of the future landscape.
“Paint the light, not the landscape. This approach may seem complicated, but I'll explain how to do it. When you look at the landscape against the low sun, everything around you comes to life. Even the most inconspicuous appearance sparkles and sparkles, full of life and energy. But turn around and you will see a dead and boring landscape. Look for the light first and the view second.”
