Born 01/08/1938 in the village of Karlygany, Republic of Mari-El.
Graduated from the Kazan Art School in 1961.
The first cartoon was published in the magazine "Pachemysh" in 1957. For many years he collaborated with the Krokodil magazine. And six of them were the main artist. He did not take part in competitions or exhibitions.
He has not published any collections of his own. The only opportunity for publication in a collection of cartoons failed due to the fact that the “Masters of Soviet Caricature” series of the publishing house Soviet Artist ceased to exist at the time of preparation of the next release of Ogorodnikov’s album.
Illustrated 10 books from the “Crocodile Library” series. Since 1963 to this day, 50 children's books with his drawings have been published. He worked for the newspaper "Pionerskaya Pravda" for five years.
