Landscapes by Boris Vasilievich Bessonov (1862-1934) (19 works)
Russian artist, landscape painter. Born in Moscow in 1862. Graduated from the 2nd Moscow Classical Gymnasium. He studied at the University and at the same time attended classes at the MUZHVZ (with V. Perov and A. Savrasov). From 1880 he served in the Ministry of Agriculture; On duty, he traveled a lot around Russia and was engaged in painting. In 1922 he was evacuated to Constantinople, ended up on the island of Lemnos, and from there to France. In Paris, he got a job at the L. Gerard gallery, where he exhibited and sold landscapes. Favorite motifs of creativity were the Russian winter landscape and abandoned noble parks and estates. Through the mediation of the gallery, he carried out orders for South America and England. Since 1931 he exhibited at the Salon of Independents. He died in 1934 in Paris. The works are stored in the Art Museums of France and England.
