Rainbow on earth. Dongchuan Red Soil (58 works)
Dongchuan Red Soil is a place in the southwest of Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province, a mountain valley 2600 feet above sea level. Due to its remoteness and lack of infrastructure, this place is not included in the tourist map of China. It was opened in the mid-1990s.
Because the soil contains components such as oxidized iron, etc. a kind of metallic mineral that, after a long period of oxidation, gradually mixed to create these unusual reddish-brown soils.
The crops in the Dongchuan Red Land such as potatoes, oats, corn, flower vegetables of various colors are arranged in such a way that when viewed from afar, it seems that God painted them on the cloth like a canvas of magnificent colors.
Each family has different sizes and shapes of land, each with its own preferences for crop types. This results in such a variety of colors. During harvest, they dig into the soil with a shovel, turning it an unusual red color.
Later, in order to encourage tourism, the place was named Lexiaguo (meaning - a place where there are many beautiful flowers)
