Renowned Argentine conceptual artist Leandro Erlich presented his installation "Concrete Coral" at Miami Art Week. This unusual display consists of 22 cars.

Life-size concrete cars are submerged 6 meters along ReefLine, a seven-mile (11.27 kilometers) underwater sculpture park and hybrid reef off the coast of Miami Beach. Weighing up to 16 tons each, these sculptures are cast from marine-grade, pH-neutral concrete, specifically designed to promote coral attachment.

The production process began with digital models, which were then cast into large 3D-printed molds. The artist collaborated with marine engineers and environmental specialists to ensure the installation would not harm the aquatic environment while simultaneously providing maximum visual impact.

The installation creates a surreal underwater landscape where visitors can observe submerged cars from viewing platforms and underwater viewing cameras. The cars are arranged in a configuration simulating a traffic jam.

Leandro Erlich previously created a traffic jam containing 66 cars out of sand. The preparation and production of the sand sculptures took two years, 330 tons of sand, and over a million dollars.
