Tree cultural code: leaves as an object of art (15 photos)
Foliage on trees is a common and familiar occurrence. But if desired, even a simple sheet can be turned into a small masterpiece, using the principle of canvas for a painting or canvas for embroidery.
The founder of the direction called leaf carving (leaf carving) is considered to be the Chinese Huang Tai Shan, whose experience was adopted by other masters from different countries. Leaves for carving should be dense, whole, and symmetrical. A long preliminary treatment - drying followed by boiling in a special solution, after which a design is applied through a stencil - allows you to preserve small masterpieces for a long time.
The work requires jeweler's precision, since the design is not cut through. Only the surface is removed, and the remaining transparent mesh acts as the basis and allows you to maintain the integrity of the picture.
