Italian artist creates illustrations about our society and relationships between people (41 photos)
Cristina Bernazzani lives in the small Italian town of Robbiate. She is a social worker and is also one of the top contributors on the online platform Depositphotos. Her nickname there is Nuvolanevicata. Christina has 30 years of experience in illustration, and you can definitely see that in her work.
Christina manages to present even difficult and sad topics in such a way that instead of sadness and despair, the viewer feels warmth and hope.
In these illustrations you can find many references and allusions to famous surrealist works of art, including the work of René Magritte. And this is understandable: Magritte is one of Christina’s favorite artists, and she feels a close connection with him. She also enjoys more contemporary magical realism that reflects our present, and authors such as Rob Gonsalves and Pale Bond.
The artist's main creative tools are irony, “cheerful” palettes and optimism. "I think it's much harder to make someone laugh than to cry. My constant goal is to create images that make people laugh or at least smile," she says.
